Thank you to the awesome folks at SEN for assisting me financially, and helping me afford the trip to Power Shift 2009! Well over 10,000 people filled the gigantic DC Convention Center (I think some estimates were as high as 12,000!)for three days of back to back environmental, political, and economic justice and activism workshops, informative panels, motivational speakers and inspirational presentations. Each day increased the sense of unity and solidarity I felt with others who were working towards a common goal – a clean, green, and sustainable future. I benefited from some fantastic networking opportunities, and am now looking forward to attending an anti-coal demonstration in Charlotte, NC in April with some fellow Power Shifters! Thanks again – here’s hoping that by the next Power Shift we can all look back at 2009 as a victorious year for green jobs and renewable energy (and know that we helped make it happen)!!!!
